Stonnall Village
The rural village of Stonnall is set on the southern boundary of Lichfield in a predominantly farming area. Also included in the Ward of Stonnall are Lower Stonnall, Lynn, Thornes, Hilton and Whitacre Heath.
It is situated between the A452 Chester Road and the A461 Walsall Road, but the surrounding farmlands buffer the effect of the main roads.
About 1200 people live in the main village and it has a vibrant community with many well supported organisations for residents and visitors of all ages.
It still has the benefit of a newsagent / local general store, fish and chip shop, Indian restaurant and two hairdressers.
Other facilities and amenities include the primary school, St Peter’s and the village church, also St. Peter’s, as well as a village hall, community centre and two pubs.
A regular bus service runs between Walsall and Lichfield through Shenstone. Stonnall is only a short car journey to Blake Street or Shenstone stations making it easily commutable to Birmingham.
The settlement of Stonnall goes back to the middle ages and references have been found in various documents, recording slightly differing names for the then hamlet; including Stanhale, Stonehale and also Stonewall.

Stonnall Film club meet on the 4th Friday of the month in the Youth & Community Centre. There is no charge and tea/coffee and biscuits are provided. Donations welcome.

Stonnall Playing Fields
The villagers have a pleasant local playing field with a recently refurbished children’s play area, together with a full-sized football pitch.
This field has seen many communal activities over the years including celebrations for the Queen’s silver, gold and diamond jubilees.

Stonnall Village Hall
Our Village Hall was purpose built in 1960 and extended during the 1990’s It is situated at 114 Main Street Stonnall, opposite the Old Swan public house. Post code WS9 9DY.
In addition to the main hall and the kitchen, there is a smaller room which could be used for meetings or as a separate room where a buffet could be laid out.

Stonnall Community Centre
Stonnall Community Centre was originally a portakabin used as a temporary classroom whilst the new ST. Peter’s School was being built.
As the Stonnall Village Hall then housed the Pre-School and had regular bookings most evenings; Shenstone Parish Council agreed to lease the building for £1.00 per year from Staffordshire County Council to give extra community space for the residents.
Since then the building has been totally refurbished with the help of
several grants. It is now the home of the Coffee Club (which meets every Wednesday morning) and several other village organisations.

St. Peter’s Church
St Peter’s Stonnall is a very friendly Church of England church and we enjoy welcoming new people of all ages.
Our church building is on Church Road, at the top of a hill just south of the village. Most members are very actively involved in many Stonnall village activities and organisations. We are also delighted that we work in active partnership with our local Stonnall C of E Primary school (St Peter’s), which achieved Outstanding Grade in its 2012 SIAS Inspection and has been awarded “Beacon School status.
Stonnall won the Staffordshire Village of the Year competition in 2008 for its quality of community life.
Services are held almost every Sunday at St Peter’s church, with the main service normally at 10h45. We hold special evening services from time to time, such as Ash Wednesday and Lessons and Carols.
Our popular, new “Sunday Special” activity afternoons for children and families are held on the 3rd Sunday of most months at 4 pm . They take place in the Youth & Community Hut (next to the school on Main Street) which is proving to be a very appropriate venue. Church members run a varied programme of enjoyable social events throughout the year.
The Friends of St Peter’s Church Stonnall association was established in 2008, which is open to all. It has now been granted independent charitable status with HMRC, so it can also receive Gift Aid.
English Heritage have given our modest brick and sandstone church building Grade II listed status.
St Peter’s enjoys a close relationship with the neighbouring parish of St John’s, Shenstone, with whom we share a vicar. Some joint services are held, especially after Christmas and Easter, and a joint church away weekend every two years. For more information please

We are St. Peter’s C of E (VC) Primary School.
